 Shaft (2000)
IMDB rating: 5.90
Plot: Cool and deadly NYPD detective John Shaft arrests Walter Wade, Jr. in a racially-motivated slaying. The eye witness disappears, Wade jumps bail for Switzerland, and Shaft is livid. Two years later, Wade returns to face trial, confident his father’s money and influence (and racial politics) guarantee an innocent verdict. Shaft looks hard for the witness, so Wade wants someone to kill her. He turns to a ghetto drug king, Peoples Hernandez, who’s willing to kill for money, use Wade as a route to rich drug customers, and shaft Shaft. Can Shaft find the witness, convince her to testify, and shepherd her through the hail of bullets that Peoples is sure to let fly?

Can uncle sam take my entire BAH?
I recently (or not so much, maybe a couple months ago) got in trouble and received a FG Art-15 and they never took my pay. Now I ETS tomorrow due to administrative chapter and I did not receive a check at all. They took everything and I was under the impression that they could take my base pay, every red cent of it, but they couldn’t touch BAH considering I live off post with 2 dependents. Am I being shafted or is this legitimate? Isn’t BAH money for my families sustenance and my housing? I am 830 miles from home, I have no money to pay for my rent, utilities or even GET home for that matter. I know I’m getting out, but on top of that, they JUST let me go to transportation last Wednesday and I was told that it would take at least 4 to 6 weeks to get my 60% advance on my DITY move. I am all out of options and I’m about to take drastic measures, so please someone with useful advice help me out before I go off the deep end?
Well I tried the medical approach but they insisted on a Chapter 14-12c. so I’m pretty much out of luck on that one.
To the 2nd answer, I did what I had to do for my family, and I needed time to handle things. I got in trouble, served my time and now it seems like they plan on screwing me off. Also, to the 3rd answer, I would rather set up a payment plan instead of putting my wife and child out on the street.
Ok, well, like I said, with what I did, I am not saying I was innocent, because I know what I did was wrong. I know how I got my article 15, I was wondering if they could screw me over like they are.
This doesn’t help you but..
you should of got out as medical discharge/ pay for the rest of you life .

they can take every penny of your last paycheck to cover anything you owe.
ADMIN Sep and Ar 15 .. means you brought this upon yourself
Mrsjvb | Jan 03, 2010
yes they can, after all you are not exactly going to rush to pay back what you owed after getting kicked out are you.

I don’t think it’s right what they did considering you need that money. I would get a lawyer and sue that’s why I am never joining the US Forces.

I think that’s great how they treat their soldiers considering they want them to defend the country but yet send them to other foreign countries when they belong here. get out of it and don’t look back and realize that they just use people and lie.

Very legitimate.
This all things that you should have thought about before committing whatever actions that you committed to get an Article XV and subsequently getting Chaptered. (For the record, if you were so innocent, then you should have refused the Article XV and demanded a trial by Courts Martial.)

You dont receive a paycheck because you are separating! You will receive it later on dummy! They should have briefed you on it!

Wow. So many harsh & "helpful" answers! o.O Im pretty sure the asker KNOWS what a FG Art-15 is… and how he got it. If you guys are not going to be a little more helpful than that, maybe you should not answer questions at all. Instead of bashing him for the one wrong he did, how about you THANK him for the great service that he provided for YOU. So let me be the first to say THANKS!!
Asker- I hope that you can find out better and more helpful information at the finance office. That would be my first stop if I were you. No one on here seems to want to help, and really this place seems to be just full of opinions instead of real answers anyway. Good Luck to you and your family.

I don’t know the answer to your question but it worries me a lot to read: "I’m about to take drastic measures, so please someone with useful advice help me out before I go off the deep end?"
Please don’t do anything drastic that might seem like a short term solution but in the long run will make will make things worse for a very long time for yourself and your family. Contact someone who may have information that can help you such as the people at the GI Rights Hotline:

Good Luck!

Sorry to tell you, but yes, they can take your BAH. My husband got audited when adding me as a dependent and they found that he had been overpaid a few years ago when he was previously married. So, they didn’t pay him at all when it came to next payday, and they said that if he didn’t want to pay back the amount in full before next pay day, he would only be getting about $300 each check so he didn’t default on his car payment. It got so bad that he almost had to send me back to Michigan to live with my parents while he moved into the barracks. Luckily he was able to get a loan from our bank to pay off the amount and he ended up getting paid as normal the next pay day.
It sucks, but technically the military can do whatever they want, especially if your contract is up and you owe them money.
