I totally agree with u. Here are few songs which i noticed:

>Cash song from movie ‘Cash’ is "inspired" form Black Eyed peas track ‘Pump It’

>The main tune of a song in Dil Chahta Hai (the one in which Saif falls in love with a girl while watching a movie) is copied from a track by The Chorrs.

There are innumerable more songs but i can’t remember any of them :(
Anand | Oct 18, 2008

hehe …. any song from the SUPER DUPER Flop movie … because no song can be hit that is from ENGLISH (Which are always failure in our India) … just look for those hindi songs which are copy of english songs … and i can bet …. 95% of songs will be from FLOP movies and not POPULAR atALL … :) …so don’t even try to compare our hindi songs to those BAKVAS english songs …. and dont even think that those are better than ours or we are relying on them to produce songs … ok …. ???!!!

The WWE=The modern day slavery???

I was just thinking about how much wrestlers in the WWE haveta work,I mean 5-6 days a week come on now and that leaves little time for friends and family.Seems like Vince is being the modern day slave owner!

I mean part of me feels like it comes with the enviroment, like if you don’t like getting shot at don’t become a cop or join the military,in other words you gotta take the good with the bad!But the other half of me feels like,it wouldn’t kill Vince to let the wrestlers take a week or two off during the holidays! I seriously wouldn’t mind waiting to see a new episode of Raw or Smackdown for a week or two if it meant they had time to relax.

Even though they get paid for the job, what are your views on it,could you do it?
WAIT A MINUTE….Bautista did Kurt Angle die?If so thats new bad news to me!
No prob Bautista, but that’s very sad and dangerous that Vince would do that, like I said Vince is acting WAY more like a slave owner then an employer!

Yes, in a way it it slavery. Vince McMahon runs a very tight ship. He is also very money hungry and will do anything, no matter who he stomps on, to make more money. You take the case of Bret Hart. Bret lost his wife to wrestling, yet, he gave his whole life to wrestling. He missed I think 2 shows during his career and how did Vince thank him? He refused to pay the Hitman what he deserved and then embarassed him in front of his countrymen and then murdered Owen. And why? He did it because he was trying to make money off of those less talented, but money making clowns like that degenerate Stone Cold, the gay Shawn Michaels.

The whole things makes me sick. I think one or two shows a week would make money and allow those guys to see their families.

They obviously like it or they would quit thats all I think about it.
showstopper | Oct 26, 2006

they knew what they signed up for before they did and yea i could do it especially since i would like to travel
bigboss | Oct 26, 2006

I know where you are coming from… I don’t consider to the extreme that you do, but it is messed up… however Vince is one of those people that believe time is money, so if he missed a shoot or something he is missing out on money….. You can’t help it when you have that mentally with you, ever since you can remember….

They sign a contract and do what their told!!! Simple!!

The more they work… the more money for the company… simple!!

WWE wrestlers do exactly that. They are on the road constantly, travelling from show to show. They pack their bags, go to the next destination, stay at their hotel, wrestle a match, then they pack their bags….

practically there not "travelling and sight seeing" at all… just a repetitive, depressing system. The only thing they see on their travels is a diffetent hotel and wrestling arena. Of course, some time is spent signing autographs, etc.

I think you see a pattern there?

I think wrestlers on average get 3 days off if their lucky (not 100% on that). You imagine the difficulties and struggle when you have a family. To not be able to see your son or daughter growing up and all the rest.

The WWE do toooo many shows a week in my opinion and that cuts many wrestlers career short by atleast 10 years on average, or maybe worse.

The more shows = more work = more money for WWE.

The more shows = less days off = screwing a wrestlers body and mind.

I think you have an idea that mromoters are VERY selfish and greedy!! Its all about MONEY!!! Why do you think REAL Pro wrestling turned into a pre-determined show? Because the promoters soon realised that more money can be made!! Period!!

In my opinion, Wrestling shows should be cut down, so wresters can heal and prepare themselves to put on better, conditioned matches. Thats my opinion. However, the lesse wrestling events, the less money!!

Dont get me wrong as wrestlers love their jobs… but explain why they are always on pain killers and other things? Also explain the wrestlers that have died of constant pains in the body? I’ll say no more there.

At the end of the day, I use to be in the Pro Wrestling business. The promoters dont care about your health. They just want you to turn up and put on a show… seriously. It is all about their business and money, and I bet deep down, Vince McMahon is like this also.

I am glad Kurt went to TNA!! Period!! For those that understand will agree!!
The Avenger | Oct 26, 2006

It’s a trying profession. They are obviously doing what they love, and wouldn’t be there is they didn’t exhibit some kind of determination. There are the odd guys such as Angle who work themselves to the bone, but that is based on an individual, and does not reflect the entire company "running them into the ground". Diff’rent strokes, diff’rent folks.
Scott W | Oct 26, 2006

I agree wit Scott W.
angeltori1432 | Oct 26, 2006

yea its modern day slavery slightly underpaid
chaosxrider | Oct 26, 2006

I agree that they sign a contract to work they way they do but look at the stastics of a professional wrestlers life.. davey boy smith (RIP),Kurt Angle,Eddie Guerrero (RIP),Big boss man (RIP) etc. You get the point.
Alot of these wrestlers shorten their lives by working so many hours and days & being tossed around the ring so much.. You figure they are either wrestling, signing autographs, doing interviews don’t leave to much time for extra cirricular activities or family life.

Kurt Angle is still alive. He just stated in one of his interviews Vince made him work through his pain instead of going to rehab for his neck injury..This is just to show how Mr. McMahon does not really care about the wrestlers health just the money they bring in. Sorry about the confusion…
bautista | Oct 26, 2006

I have no idea what your talking about,
Wrestlers wrestle because they love the sport, the fans, the money, and the intirgue.
McMahon is not a slave owner, he is a business owner.
Jack | Oct 26, 2006

I think they love to work and see the fans ,travel all over the world they sign contracts put show on For Raw and smackdown everyweek because they want to
pattibcacl | Oct 26, 2006

around the holidays ,he rotates the ones that have family and want to go home.and since smackdown is taped on tuesday,if they are not on the roster for an in house show—they can fly home on the weekends.but that’s not an option for the main money makers.

Does anyone know about the 'Bell Witch ?

I know the movie’An American Haunting’ is supposed to be based on it. I have tried to look it up on google and such. All I keep getting is about the haunting itself. I want to know about the actual person that they believe is the witch. From what I could find, it’s believed that her name is Kate Batts. Can anyone tell me anything about the person? If you can’t,please give me an idea of where I can find information.

About 1815, John Bell had a property line dispute with Josiah Fort, a nearby neighbor. About 1816, John Bell had a dispute with Benjamin Batts, another neighbor, regarding the sale of a slave (which ended up in Bell’s excommunication from the church). Kate Batts was only distantly related to Benjamin Batts.

Over the years, the two separate incidents got twisted around, leading to the false theory that Kate Batts and John Bell had a dispute over land, and that she came back from the grave to haunt him.

Kate Batts was indeed a real person. Records put her in Robertson County first around 1815, with her husband, Frederick. She died in the 1842-43 timeframe, 22-23 years AFTER John Bell died. She could not have come back from the grave to haunt him. She had nothing whatsoever to do with the Bell Witch disturbances.

The "Bell Witch" was not a person; it was a paranormal entity.

I lived in Tennessee when the movie came out and looked it up. There is a website all about it. There is a man that wrote a series of books about it. I know the sign is on a hwy about 45 minutes from Lebanon Tennessee. You can visit the site of the Bell witch also. I think I just searched online and typed in An American Haunting. I might have added Tennessee or Bell witch. Just dig a little deeper its there.

I love the story of the bell witch. President Andrew jackson claims that he had seen this joke. We use to try to spend the night on the property, but most the time were to scared. Here is a website for the bell witch

I can tell you this much, it’s a hoax, evry supernatural occurance in the history of the human race has turned out to be either scientifically debunked or an outright lie.
DjStabMasterArson | Nov 13, 2006

I think you should look it up in the wikipedia where it gives the history and also some actual published documents. Facts say that kate batts had lived 22 years longer than john bell so she might not have been the bell witch. And there is also no proof that she swore revenge upon, but it is believed so. Some also say she never existed. In wikipedia it also gives several accounts of how the haunting took place so i truly reccommend that site.
xox_brainiac_xtreme | Nov 13, 2006

Keep in mind it is a ghost story and not at Witch story really..

The spirit identified itself Kate Batts, a neighbors of the Bell’s, with whom John had experienced bad business dealings over some purchased slaves. "Kate" as the local people began calling her, made daily appearances in the Bell home, wreaking havoc on everyone there. People all over the area of soon learned of the witch and she made appearances, in sounds and voices, all over Robertson County.

‘Wedge’ effect may explain I-40 rock slide in Haywood County

26.10.09
John Pilipchuk, western regional manager for the N.C. Department of Transportation?s Geotechnical Engineering Unit, said this afternoon that geologists continue to investigate the site, but the slide exposed a weak point in the underlying rocks. The slide occurred at mile marker 3.

?At this specific spot, what you have is two planes in the rock,? Pilipchuk said, explaining that where the two planes come together, the rock forms an intersection or joint that creates a wedge. ?Then, with water getting in there, you get freeze-thaw activity, and that creates expansion.?

While the depth of the joint varies, it looks to be about 20 feet deep. The rock in that area appears to be metagraywacke, a common ?metasediment? type rock that is fairly nondescript and not necessarily any more prone to cracking than granite.

?A lot more of what contributes to this is the tectonic part of it ? the cracks, the joints in the rock,? Pilipchuk said. ?When you have a failure like this, you look for planes in the rock. When you look for it now, it?s all nicely exposed. When the planes come together like that, it?s an area you need to bolt or remove.?

This year?s heavy rainfalls ? so far this year Asheville has recorded 45.25 inches, 6.06 above normal ? may have contributed to the rock failure, but they don?t know that for sure, Pilipchuk said. Freeze-thaw cycles that can cause expansions and cracks also could be a contributing factor.

Geologists on site, including Pilipchuk, are surveying the site this afternoon and will formulate a repair strategy with their DOT engineering counterparts.

See Tuesday’s Citizen-Times for more details on this developing story.
